Move to Peel keeps paying off as Ugle reaches 100
HIS move to Mandurah has proved the best decision of his life with Gerald Ugle becoming a dual premiership captain with Peel Thunder and now the only thing that would take he and his young family away would be a second AFL chance as he approaches game 100 in the WAFL.
Being able to settle living in Mandurah with his wife, son and daughter now since making the move from Perth at the end of 2014 has proven quite the successful decision to make for Ugle both on and off the field.
The result is that he has not missed a game since joining Peel for the 2015 season. He has played 79 of a possible 79 matches at the Thunder and that has included the only nine finals that the club has ever participated in.
Bulldogs overcome the Thunder
Peel Thunder have been defeated by the South Fremantle Bulldogs at Fremantle Community Bank Oval on Saturday leaving them seventh on the WAFL ladder.
The Thunder’s six goal blitz in the final term wasn’t enough to secure a win with the final score as 16.11 (107) to 10.12 (72).
Peel defender Bradley McGowan said the Bulldogs were always going to be a challenge.
“They rebound really quickly and are in one way and out the Read More [+]

M & J Chickens Player of Round 10
BEN Howlett couldn’t have worked any harder so far in the 2018 WAFL season upon return to Peel Thunder and he was rewarded on Saturday with a best on ground performance in a much-needed victory against West Perth.
Howlett has been named the M & J Chickens Player of Round 10 following his standout performance on Saturday which saw Peel Thunder hold on for the thrilling three-point victory against West Perth at Bendigo Bank Stadium.
That saw the Thunder win consecutive matches for the first time in 2018 as they chase what would be a history hat-trick of WAFL premierships with Howlett desperate to be part of that success upon return to the club after eight years in the AFL with Essendon.
