The Peel Thunder Football Club recently welcomed 60 new players into its family. No, this wasn’t a late season trade coup. It was the 2019 Peel Thunder U/14s Development Program. 

The U/14s Development Program has seen many different formats over the years but has always stayed a launch pad for the club’s future stars.

Peel Thunder’s finals hopes are over after suffering a devastating four-point loss to Swan Districts at Steel Blue Oval.

The Thunder were on top all day until the Swans held them goalless in the final term to get over the line 7.6 (48) to Peel’s 6.8 (44). 

Thunder coach Cameron Shepherd said it was a sombre mood in the rooms after the game.

If last week wasn’t a must win game, then this week certainly is as we head to Bassendean to face bottom placed Swan Districts. Needing a victory and a favour from East Fremantle, it really is now or never for our boys and their finals quest.

Peel Thunder’s finals hopes are in jeopardy after losing to South Fremantle by 40-points at Fremantle Community Bank Oval. 

The Bulldogs kicked the first six goals of the game to run away winners 11.16 (82) to 6.6 (42).

Second game player Jarvis Pina said a lack of pressure in the first half cost the Thunder.

“They were dominating the ball and we just couldn’t get it off them,“ he said.

This Saturday we will be out for vengeance as we look to bounce back from last weekend’s defeat to Claremont in a do or die clash at Fremantle Community Bank Oval. With both West Perth and Perth 2 games clear with 3 to play, we will have to win all of our remaining fixtures and hope that some other teams can do us a favour to have any chance at qualifying for finals.

A dramatic finish at Rushton Park has put Peel Thunder’s finals hopes in jeopardy after a two-point loss to Claremont.
