Backman James Flaherty has signed a new 1-year deal, keeping him at Bendigo Bank Stadium until the end of the 2014 season.

He joins Marlon Motlop, Jarrhan Jacky, James Hawksley, Paul Bower, Kristin Thornton and Cruize Garlett who have all committed to the Peel Thunder Football Club for season 2014 which will see some major changes with the full alignment coming into affect in season 2014.

James is really happy to have signed for another year, and looks forward to working with the young talented players coming through.

With the experience that the club lost in 2013, James will provide great leadership and direction for the player group.

With the contract out of the way, James is looking forward to next season, getting back into training and working really hard over summer because as a club we know we are heading in the right direction."

James is highly regarded by the coaching staff and playing group and it’s great to have him re-sign for another year, Brad Bootsma said.

"James work ethic and competitive nature has not only seen him develop into one of the best Full backs in the competition but he’s also a great leader and role model for our club.

I think James decision to sign on for one more year gives you an insight into his character and the values he holds as a footballer and person," Bootsma said
