THE most incredible of turnarounds in the WAFLW competition continued on Sunday with Peel Thunder making it back-to-back premierships with a 21-point victory against Swan Districts.

The WAFLW competition was officially created back in 2019 to be the elite female football competition in Western Australia to follow the lead on the national level of the AFLW competition, but it was a tough initiation for Peel Thunder.

WAFLW Finals Wrap

Our Semi Final against Swans was played at Bassendean in cold and wet conditions but the contest was red hot and fierce.  The girls started in outstanding fashion and with our defence limiting Swans scoring ability we manage to gain field position and break through with a goal late in the first quarter to lead at quarter time 1.2 (8) to 0.1 (1).

Optus WAFLW Grand Final venue confirmed

The Optus WAFLW Grand Final will head south in 2021 with David Grays Arena, home of the Peel Thunder Football Club, confirmed to host the decider.
 
The game will be played on the weekend of July 3/4, with the date and time to be finalised pending the confirmation of AFL fixtures and broadcast times.
